Mary has newly been appointed as a Staff Officer at the Defence Force School of Music.
She is the artistic director of the Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir which, performs a busy schedule of concerts and events throughout the year across the country. Most recently they competed at the Cornwall International Male Voice Festival, the choir won 2nd prize, and Mary brought home the award for ‘Best Overall Conductor’ at CIMCF 2024.
Mary is currently the UCD Associate Conductor 2024-2025. She was the 2023 conductor-in-training with the Irish Youth Choir. She has participated in programmes and masterclasses in the Royal Academy of Music (London), Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester) and National Concert Hall (Ireland).
Her past work includes serving as the artistic director of Wexford Gateway Orchestra and conductor of the Well Sing Choirs in the Royal Irish Academy of Music. These ensembles explore key themes of well-being through singing and playing.
Mary was assistant conductor for Horse Ape Bird, an opera produced by Irish National Opera in association with Music Generation. She was also the assistant conductor for the opera, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, produced by Opera Collective Ireland.
A keen singer herself, she was a member of the first cohort of Chamber Choir Ireland Studio 2023/2024 and a participant of the Sestina Young Generation Programme 2023/2024. She was a soprano with the international award-winning chamber choir New Dublin Voices.
